The day got off to an interesting start...
I arrived at the Hospital and moments later through the window I see a huge mob for and a little boy sprinting for his life until he is caught by the angry mob. I later find out he is a pick-pockter and has been caught. They are on the verge of killing him when Dr. Msuya pulls up in his truck, hops out, and saves the little boy. Hopefully the boy will remember the second chance he was given and clean up his act!
Today was a typical day, except I finished much later because of a Gastrojujeunostomy in the afternoon with Dr. Lyamuyo.
On my walk home as I came to the top of the hill at Sanawari I saw huge crowds, flashing lights, and police and military officials. I had no idea what was going on and was none to keen to be caught up in the crowd. I quickly whisked past the intersection and found a police officer a little further up the road to Sekei. I stopped to chat and he informed me that this was all for a motorcaide for the President of Rwanda. He was none to pleased with my lack of knowledge of African politics, or global politics for that matter as I could not same all the UN officials accompanying him. Traffic was piled up for miles. It reminded me of President Obama's recent visit to Ottawa!
Now I am back in Sekei wanting to get home and take a load off after a long day!
